hypnagogs
What did you find, in that in-between, of wakefulness, and sleep?
ABOUT THIS PIECE
hypnagogs explores hypnagogia—the transitional, sometimes hallucinatory state between wakefulness and sleep—and how historical figures like Salvador Dalí, Thomas Edison, and Albert Einstein deliberately induced it to facilitate creative breakthroughs. The piece will investigate the extreme, sometimes absurd lengths to which we push our brains and bodies in pursuit of inspiration, exploring vulnerability, self-awareness, and intentionality at the edge of consciousness.
